About Sign PDF
Sign a PDF by drawing, typing or uploading your PDF signature and placing it on the page. You can also add your name, initials or the date. The signature is written into the PDF, so it shows in every viewer and when printed.
This PDF signer creates a free PDF signature, an electronic signature: a visible signature that shows you agreed to a document. For most everyday paperwork (rental forms, permission slips, invoices, NDAs) that is what is needed. Documents that legally require a certificate-based digital signature need a dedicated signing service.
- Sign on a phone or tablet with your finger for the most natural signature.
- Upload a photo of your signature on white paper; the white background is removed automatically.
- Place the signature, then add the date next to it with “Text / date”.

Your file is processed by your own browser, in memory. It is never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone, and the page’s security policy blocks it from sending data to other servers.
Frequently asked questions
How to sign a PDF?
Add the PDF, draw, type or upload your signature and click “Use signature”, then click the spot on the page where it belongs. Click Save signed PDF to download.
Is an electronic signature legally valid?
In the US (ESIGN Act), the EU (eIDAS) and many other countries, electronic signatures are legally recognised for most contracts. Some documents, such as wills or certain government forms, have special rules; check with the recipient if unsure.
What’s the difference between an electronic and a digital signature?
An electronic signature is a visible mark of agreement, like the one this tool adds. A digital signature is a cryptographic certificate embedded in the file that proves who signed and that nothing changed afterwards. This tool does not add certificates.
Is it safe to use with confidential documents?
Yes. The file is opened by your own browser and processed in your device’s memory. It is never uploaded, so no server, including ours, ever receives a copy. That makes it suitable for contracts, IDs, medical or bank documents.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark, no daily limit and no paid tier hiding the useful settings. Because your device does the work, it costs us almost nothing to run.
