About Merge PDF Files
Merging takes the pages of several PDF files and writes them, in the order you choose, into one new document. Nothing is re-rendered: text stays selectable, links keep working and images keep their original quality, because pages are copied as they are rather than converted.
Whether you think of it as a PDF merger, a PDF combiner or simply a way to combine PDF files, the job is the same. Typical uses are joining a cover letter with a CV, putting scanned receipts into one expense report, or sending a single file instead of five attachments.
- Name files with numbers (01, 02…) before adding them and they start in the right order.
- Merge first, then compress, if the combined file is too big to email.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before they can be merged.
- Mixing page sizes is fine: each page keeps its own size and orientation.
Settings explained
- File order
- The merged PDF follows the order of the list. Drag a file or use the arrows to move it.
- Images
- On pages that allow it, JPG and PNG files are added as full pages.
Private by design
Your file is processed by your own browser, in memory. It is never uploaded, stored or seen by anyone, and the page’s security policy blocks it from sending data to other servers.
Frequently asked questions
How do I combine PDF?
Add two or more PDF files. Drag them into the order you want. Click Merge PDF and download the combined file.
How to combine PDF files?
Add the PDFs, drag them into the order you want, then click Merge PDF. The combined file downloads straight away. You can merge two files or dozens; the order of the list is the order of the pages.
Can I change the order of the files?
Yes. Use the arrows next to each file to move it up or down before merging. To reorder individual pages after merging, use Rearrange PDF Pages.
Is there a limit on files or size?
There is no fixed limit. The only constraint is your device’s memory; a normal laptop handles hundreds of pages or files of several hundred MB.
Does merging reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied without re-encoding, so text, vector graphics and images look exactly as they did in the original files.
Is it safe to use with confidential documents?
Yes. The file is opened by your own browser and processed in your device’s memory. It is never uploaded, so no server, including ours, ever receives a copy. That makes it suitable for contracts, IDs, medical or bank documents.
